Mayor Tucker made quite an announcement on Friday, saying that assessment increases would be reduced by 40 percent across the board. He didn't tell the paper. He didn't even tell WLVL's news department. He told you directly - and he chose Dialog to do it. We also discussed Tom Lambalzer's sign issues. And took lots of calls. Good show.

Al Garza from the Minutemen organization was on talking about the president's plan for border security and the Minutemen's plan to build a fence on the Arizona/Mexico border. Good stuff.

Greater Niagara News' Tim Schmitt was in studio talking Thursday. He and I mainly talked hockey since the Sabres are such a hot commodity. I hope he joins us again in the finals.

Wednesday we talked about the president's border security plan again ... and also David Ulrich's tax breaks on 80 Main Street. A good show.

US&J Columnist and fellow Libertarian Bob Confer was in studio Tuesday talking about stupid things state government does and other things. Bob also agreed to make a montly foray into the studio to talk about similar topics.

We talked with Richard Armstrong, author of a book entitled "God Doesn't Shoot Craps - A Divine Comedy." He gave us some tips and tricks on how to get freebies out of casinos.

This little episode is with Cambria resident and frequent Dialog caller Pete Schul, who is upset about the way government treats us ... so he played a couple songs for our listening pleasure. This will run as-is during the May 29th Dialog. But it's on the internet early. Enjoy.

A lot going on in Niagara. We discussed a multitude of things.

In Scott's absense, Good Neighbor Dave Marmon hosted Dialog with guests John Hall and Melissa Dunlap from the Niagara County Historical Society.

The president unveiled a plan to have the National Guard protect the border from illegal aliens. We discussed it. Lots of ... let's say "contentious" ,,, comments.

The City of Lockport sent out it's annual letters telling people the value of their property (for tax purposes). People were a little upset. We had group therapy.

UAW Local 686 voted to authorize a strike at Delphi. Friday we talked about it.

Checkers guru John Herberger was in studio on Thursday talking about his bid to be the National Checkers Champ. He's going to Medina, Ohio in June and needs $500 to cover his expenses. Callers loved him. I did too. After John left, I complained about the "just say yes" ad campaign by the State Teacher's Union. To quote Ruthie, "What a Crock!" Enjoy.

Last week, a couple Lockport police cars smacked into each other on their way to a car chase. Three people got injured in the accident. Because of that, the guy they were chasing was charged with three counts of assault. Assault in absentia. How is that possible? I was a little perturbed. So were several callers. Good show. Enjoy.

Four school board candidates from three different school districts made their cases right to the people on Tuesday. Thanks to the candidates for their participation and to the callers for questions.

Friday's show was a bit of a release for Scott. He got to talk about all the stupid things the Democratic Party does. Scott, a reformed Democrat, says the donkeys (asses?) missed a great opportunity to take a seat in the ASSembly (coincindence, I think not). Was he too hard on the Dems? You be the judge.

Niagara County Manger Greg Lewis was in studio Thursday to discuss his desire for a contract extension, among other things. We got some incredibly rude phone calls from some union folk. Some people are somethin' else, ya know?

Wednesday, John Harrison, the official ice cream taster for Edy's ice cream, was our guest. And he brought ice cream for everyone to eat. We opened up the lobby at the WLVL studios and invited the public to taste what John was offering. It was a fun show. A very nice change of pace.

This week is home to many great events including the ice cream guy coming Wednesday, Cinco De Mayo and ... No Pants Day. What other great events could we celebrate?

Monday's show was a plea to listeners to vote in Tuesday's special election for NY State Assembly. And we talked about some other stuff, too. It's a short show cause we had to cut away for a Nascar race.
