Mon, 27 February 2006 On Monday we talked about a proposed law that would require police officers to use the minimum amount of force to subdue a criminal. Rochester talk show host Bob Lonsberry thought it was a stupid idea. I disagreed. The callers almost all agreed with Lonsberry. It was a good show. Comments[0] |

Fri, 24 February 2006 Mayor Tucker and I talked about downtown, Richmond Avenue, fire dispatch, the sexual predators law and dodge ball. A good show overall. Comments[0] |

Thu, 23 February 2006 Thursday's show was sort of all over the board, but it started with a small rant by Scott about all the negative MySpace news. We also discussed Dubai Ports World at length. A solid B. Comments[0] |
Wed, 22 February 2006 Bob Confer, vice president of Confer Plastics and columnist for the Union-Sun & Journal, was my guest on Wednesday. It was a great show. We talked about Bob's columns and focused on the global economy. For more on Bob, check Bob's web site.Comments[0] |
Tue, 21 February 2006 We talked about the US government's penchant for selling us out to the highest bidder - specifically the deal with the United Arab Emerates company taking control of six eastern sea ports. Comments[0] |
Mon, 20 February 2006 I wasn't really expecting many phone calls Monday since I had said I'd be taking the day off and it was a holiday ... but people wanted to talk. Some interesting stuff. Fri, 17 February 2006 Usually I write these show notes right after a show ... and I let a few days pass with this one. As such, I don't recall what this was about. But someone told me it was funny. So I hope they were right. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Thu, 16 February 2006 Thursday, I read an email I got for a man who has been labeled a "sex offender" and we talked about what that means. We also discussed a proposed law that would essentially bar sex offenders from Lockport. Good thoughts from callers. Comments[0] |
Wed, 15 February 2006 Doug Farley sat in for Melissa Dunlap on this episode. Doug and John Hall talked about music history in Niagara County - and especially the Lockport area.Comments[0] |
Tue, 14 February 2006 Valentines Day I had the great opportunity to interview Jake LaMotta, the Bronx Bull. We talked about boxing in his day and boxing now. It was tough at times, cause Jake doesn't seem to have the best hearing, but I appreciate his giving me the time. Thanks to PC Tony for putting this together. And thanks to Jake for donating the gloves to raffle off for Winter Fest. They look alot like the one he autographed to me. :) This interview will air Friday, but I thought I'd put it up now for those of you who want to listen.Comments[2] |
Tue, 14 February 2006 So Tuesday's show was a continuation of a theme from Monday. Dick Cheney shot someone. It's still astounding. And I took a lot of phone calls from people on the subject. A good time. Oh, and we shared valentines thoughts from President Bush, VP Cheney and former president Bill Clinton. This is a good one, folks. Mon, 13 February 2006 I interviewed Gary Grossman, author of Executive Treason. It's a very good book with a unique premise. For more on grossman, visit ExecutiveTreason.com or ElliotStrong.com. This podcast is the RAW interview (which took place Thursday), and includes a brief conversation between myself and Grossman before the interview and after. Also, this contains about six minutes more interview than aired on WLVL including a discussion about Hillary Clinton and the current state of talk radio. Grossman was a great interview. I hope you enjoy it like I did.Comments[0] |
Mon, 13 February 2006 Michele Johnston is a fan of the show who asked if she could be a guest. Since she's a nice person and also a local cab driver, I figured, "Why not? She probably has lots of funny stories and we'll just talk about whatever." Well, she clammed up once the mic got turned on. Standard broadcastophobia. But she tried. Anyway, a guest who doesn't talk makes for a long show, so I kicked her out at the first commercial break and then took phone calls on a variety of topics. John Lombardi dropped by and talked about Winter Fest and July 4th (2nd?) and Sal Paonessa called late in the show, too. Overall, a good show. Oh, and "Dick Cheney shot someone." Fri, 10 February 2006 David Rosenwasser is the president and CEO of the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation. We talked Friday about how to boost tourism in the area and what the NTCC's role is. Rosenwasser was good cause he's apparently not willing to kowtow to the powerful and blamed New York for their faults. Good for him. Hope you enjoy the show.Comments[0] |
Thu, 9 February 2006 County Manager Greg Lewis. We talked about the golf course, Mount View, "the buffer zone" and more. Oh, and I stuck it to Rooney for his slight jab at me.
Hey Bob, if you're going to mock someone on your piece of crap web site, do it with some gusto, k? Comments[0] |
Wed, 8 February 2006 Tom Schatz is from Citizens Against Government Waste, a group that yells at congress for pork-barrel spending and other wasteful things. On Wednesday, we discussed the possibility of a windfall-profits tax on oil companies, among other things. I enjoyed the interview. Hope you do too. Comments[0] |
Wed, 8 February 2006 Wednesday's show was a bore. It sucked. Don't bother downloading it. But if you do, listen in for my "jelly bean commentary" which I provide over the top of some of the callers. Frankly it was rude and stupid. But I did it anyway. Comments[0] |
Tue, 7 February 2006 A bunch of people called the station over the weekend complaining about the way Main Street looked because all the garbage had blown all over the place. We couldn't discuss this on Monday cause we had to talk about the Superbowl commercials, so we talked about it on this show. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Mon, 6 February 2006 Steve is one of the great people I met in New York at the last media summit I went to. I've been wanting to get to him, but other things keep popping up. If you're into gambling, the book is WELL WORTH $17. Check out his web site. He said he'd throw in free shipping and a couple of other things if you mentioned you heard it on the show. So that's cool. Enjoy. But listen to the show first.Comments[0] |
Mon, 6 February 2006 Racin' Ray Sherman helped me to host the Superbowl Ad Review show again this year. Overall, the game sucked ... and the commercials weren't really much better. Calls were slow to come in today, which makes no sense to me. I mean, what else did people want to talk about today? Comments[0] |
Fri, 3 February 2006 Robert Peters from "Morality in Media" was on to talk about FCC regulations and decency standards in media and the internet. It was a good show, although I can't say I buy into the guy's thought process. Comments[0] |
Fri, 3 February 2006 Starpoint and Roy-Hart are two schools in the news and Scott gives his point of view ... plus what was the Union-Sun thinking with a headline like that? You'll have to listen to learn. Comments[0] |
Thu, 2 February 2006 Racin' Ray co-hosted this no-holds-barred show where we talked about ... nothing and anything ... for an hour. Topics included Survivor, George Maziarz warchest, and what girls look good in t-shirts. Rather enjoyable ... if I do say so myself. Comments[0] |
Wed, 1 February 2006 Mike Lieber, coach of the Emmet Belknap robitics team, and several members of the team, did an "on-location" interview on what they're doing. Wed, 1 February 2006 WLVL Sports Director Norm Palmer brought Lockport High School Athletic Director Pat Burke into the WLVL studios and we talked high school sports. The main focus was boys' basketball. It was a good hour. We'll do it again in the spring. Tue, 31 January 2006 Tim Marren, editor of the Union-Sun & Journal dragged "cub reporter" Bill Wolcott and Eric Duvall into the WLVL studios for an hour of what I'm sure was pure hell for them ... but kinda fun for me. And hopefully for you, too.Comments[0] |
