Mon, 30 January 2006 Monday we just shot the breeze about whatever. Scott was a little tweaked that NYPA is trying to tell the county to be quiet. Also, why is the state involved in Erie County's tax system? Plus thoughts on the SOTU and Alito, and price gouging, too. Plus my buddy Dave dropped by with a girl ... but she was actually hot! (so unlike Dave). All in all, a good show. Enjoy. Direct download: Dialog_013006_-_Open_Dialog_Winters_Appears.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:18 PM Comments[1] |
Fri, 27 January 2006 Dennis Farley and Jeremy Kirkpatrick, members of Gorilla Punch did two live acoustic songs in the WLVL studios, plus we played a third song off their EP and chatted about life, music and politics. In addition to the audio of this show, there is also video available of the two acoustic songs the guys performed, Aftermath, and Head - Hole - Dump. Thanks to the guys for rocking out! Comments[0] |
Fri, 27 January 2006 I took video of both of Gorilla Punch's live songs that they performed at WLVL on Friday. The quality is decent, but not the best. Hopefully you enjoy, nonetheless. Aftermath. Comments[0] |

Fri, 27 January 2006 The mayor was a couple minutes late, so we started without him. We traversed a bunch of different topics, including the garbage law, the new treasurer, the mayor's son having a job and more. Comments[0] |
Thu, 26 January 2006 Hundreds of Western New Yorkers filled "The Summit" (Park Mall) to interview for Survivor. My buddies Racin' Ray Sherman and Joe Speer were there and Ray did a live report in the middle of the show. Plus Tom Christy and I talked about the phenemenon and more. Fun show. Enjoy. Wed, 25 January 2006 Author Leland Gregory and I barely had a chance to talk about his new book, Bushwacked. We were too busy talking about everything else in life. If you enjoy a conversational interview, you'll really enjoy this one. I sure did. For more on Leland, check his web site.Comments[0] |
Wed, 25 January 2006 The folks from Newfane CARES are suing the Newfane school district. They held a meeting Tuesday night and I spent the show talking about their issues. Good on 'em. Comments[0] |
Tue, 24 January 2006 This show was a lot of fun. I presented 17 words or phrases that need to be stricken from the English Language. The listeners added dozens more. Download. Listen. Repeat. Mon, 23 January 2006 There was a lot going on Monday. We began the show with part of an interview with Lyndon LaRouche (click here for the rest of that interview ... then we brought up the government case against Google (apparently the feds make the rules as they go along and the new rule is that you have to show them/tell them whatever they want) and then we wrapped up with a conversation with Karl Reile, the local distributor of the Liberty Dollar. Overall a good show, although lacking in the phone call department. Direct download: Dialog_012306_-_LaRouche_Reile_and_Google.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:00 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 20 January 2006 This is a podcast exclusive interview with economist and perennial presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche. I talked with Lyn about Samuel Alito, the situation in the automobile industry and his thoughts on the media. The part of the interview dealing with Alito will begin Dialog on Monday - and we'll springboard off of it for a discussion on the Supreme Court nominee.Direct download: Interview_012006_-_Lyndon_LaRouche_RAW.mp3 Category: Interview -- posted at: 1:40 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 20 January 2006 Steve Greenfield is running against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primary for the US Senate. He thinks her stance on the war is too similar to that of W and the GOP. It was a pretty good interview. Even Greenfield admits, though, that Hillary can't be beaten. But he thinks his candidacy can keep her in check and maybe even influence her positions. Comments[0] |
Fri, 20 January 2006 The city fined Lockport's Dan Kane for violating the garbage law that says you can't put your garbage out more than 24 hours before garbage day. Thing is, Dan didn't do it. It was his tenants. I think that's bull - no matter what they law might say. Some folks agreed. Others didn't. Also, despite an announcement from Osama Bin Laden that Al-Queda will attack, the US government keeps the terror level at yellow, citing "no credible evidence." Since when is a confession not credible evidence? Comments[0] |
Thu, 19 January 2006 US Senator Hillary Clinton made some really dumb remarks the other day. As did New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. Why do politicians open their mouths is such stupid stuff is going to fall out? Oh, and we also talked about the Amherst fight with Wal-Mart. No shortage of stupid today. Unfortunately, I missed like the first 90 seconds, but I think you'll catch on quickly.Direct download: Dialog_011906_-_Stupid_is_as_stupid_says.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:26 PM Comments[0] |
Wed, 18 January 2006 John Faso is the GOP candidate for Governor ... or at least he A GOP candidate. We talked about his plans, his accomplishments and how the system is broken. Comments[0] |
Wed, 18 January 2006 John Hall did most of the talking this episode as the topic was Volunteer Firemen, something he's much more familiar with than Melissa is. We didn't get many calls, but one was chock full of information.
The website given out during the show was FASNY.com. Comments[0] |
Tue, 17 January 2006 AFSCME local president Ed McDonald fielded questions from callers and from the host. All went well, IMHO.Comments[0] |
Mon, 16 January 2006 Avery discussed his book, "Globalist Papers," an interesting look at how to unite the world and eliminate (to a degree) senseless war. I was impressed. Hope you were, too. Comments[0] |
Mon, 16 January 2006 Monday's show started with bits from an interview I did with former congressman Bob Barr. (for the whole interview, click here) After that, I took phone calls on the matter. And we discussed Martin Luther King day. And I discussed The Lockport Web Rag. Good times. Fri, 13 January 2006 Here's the interview of Bob Barr, unedited. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Hope you do, too. There's about 13 minutes more audio here than what I aired on Dialog Monday. Comments[0] |
Fri, 13 January 2006 Simple question - have you considered leaving New York? I was shocked at the number of people who have - not just considered - but made a plan for leaving NYS. Hmm. Interesting show. Direct download: Dialog_011306_-_Have_you_considered_leaving.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 3:57 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 13 January 2006 Trager is the president of a pharmaceutical firm that makes "Sine-Off," a cold medicine which is said to be safer than other's becuase you can't use it as an incredient in Crystal Meth. There's a bill that would require cold and flu medicines to be behind lock and key and require a drivers license for purchase. Trager supports the bill cause his product would be exempt. Thu, 12 January 2006 In Thursday's show we revisted a couple topics from the day before that never really materialized. We talked about WalMart and how the town has handled the proposed Super WalMart. We talked about Lockport-NY.com again (still no update) and we talked about rude people. And Scott went on a tirade about people being unable to wait on hold. Comments[1] |
Wed, 11 January 2006 Dorothy and I had a great conversation on the mid-east and what Ariel Sharon's stroke means for the region. For more on Dorothy, check her web site.Comments[0] |
Wed, 11 January 2006 We had a variety of topics on Wednesday, but one of the things I really hammered home was the fact that a local web site had asked people for a whole lotta money ... and hasn't updated in 11 days. If I was one of the people that had "donated," I'd be upset. For the record, scottleffler.com costs about $300 a year to run. This other website is asking for $4,000. Seems like a bit much to me. Tue, 10 January 2006 Tonight is the People's Choice Awards on CBS and they frequently have stupid categories that no one cares about, so I thought I'd create some categories that actually effect us. For more on this, check The post on my MySpace blog. And feel free to add votes/categories/etc. Comments[0] |
Mon, 9 January 2006 We're all familiar with the corruption problems of the GOP of late. The Dems say they'd do better. But their track record indicates otherwise. Truth is, both major parties are corrupt. We need to make them minor parties. A good show. Some good calls. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Thu, 5 January 2006 County Manager Greg Lewis was in studio taking phone calls on county issues ... but we spent a lot of time talking about the NYPA agreement and the fact that we're all bent over a barrel when it comes to power costs. Comments[0] |

Tue, 3 January 2006 Topics included the city treasurer's position and the "stipend" city officials are adding to the salary in order to make the position more attractive. Also, Scott discussed the city's Winter Fun Fest and how we can save it since the city abandoned it. Other than that, it was up to the callers - whom I had to threaten in order to get them to call. I'm still sick. Getting better. I swear I am. No really. Another week and I'll be okay. I hope. Comments[0] |
