Fri, 30 December 2005 "The sickness" just won't go away ... but Mayor Mike makes it more bearable, wrapping up the year with questions about downtown, the Flight of Five, and Winter Fun Fest, which apparently we have to save from the jaws of death. Hmm. Stay tuned for more details. Comments[1] |
Thu, 29 December 2005 Tom Christy co-hosted to help talk about the year 2005 in review. Of course, we discussed Delphi ... plus local gas prices, the election and more. I was still pretty sick so it was mainly Tom and callers. Comments[0] |
Tue, 27 December 2005 After six days, Scott continues to evade death. Tuesday's show he took a lot of phone calls - cause he didn't have the strength to talk much. I really appreciate those who called in and saved me. It's in interesting show to listen to if you like the sound of a talk show host choking to death ... which I'm sure many of you do. :)Comments[0] |
Fri, 23 December 2005 James and I discussed his book, "God Rest ye Merry Soldiers," a tale about Christmas on the Civil War battlefield. It was - in my opinion - a very good interview. Hope you enjoy it ... and Merry Christmas.Comments[0] |
Fri, 23 December 2005 This edition starting with the "did you run out of insults for our president" bit - and went downhill from there. Un-PC phrases included "fire the fatty" and a bit on incest. Enjoy ... if you can stomach it. Direct download: Dialog_122305_-_Worst_of_Leffler_Volume_8.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:41 PM Comments[0] |
Wed, 21 December 2005 Avis is a local author who has written a number of books on local towns. She shared some litte-known and some well-known facts about the towns of Newfane & Olcott, Wilson, Medina and Albion. I was very sick so I sound like crap. Thank goodness Avis tried harder.Comments[0] |
Wed, 21 December 2005 With me down for the count, Good Neighbor Dave Marmon filled in most graciously. The show was to be about Christmas hymns, but it changed with the breeze. Hope you enjoy. Comments[0] |
Tue, 20 December 2005 Tuesday's show we discussed things that the Constitution allowed us to do but that the state has taken away. Our rights are eroding and they'll continue to as long as we continue to elect the same politicrats. Good show, IMHO.Comments[0] |

Mon, 19 December 2005 We started with a "commercial" from our "new sponsor," and then led to a good discussion on the government tearing away at our freedoms - specifically the president signing an executive order calling for wire taps without warrants, a clear abridgement of our 4th Amendment rights. Oh, and Cheney Claus made an appearance or two. Overall, I thought it was a great show. Hope you enjoy. Comments[0] |
Fri, 16 December 2005 I just think this gay cowboy movie is the funniest damn thing. So I talked about it - by myself - for an hour. We got several complaint calls during the show. People thought I was making it up. I'm not. A gay cowboy movie. Whoda Thunkit?Comments[2] |
Thu, 15 December 2005 I had no real plan when starting the show, just throwing open the phone lines and seeing what the people wanted to talk about. Well, one guy wanted to talk about the Red Cross ... and other's did too. Lots of talk about the Red Cross vs. Salvation Army vs. FEMA vs. United Way. Interesting stuff. But, frankly, I thought it was a little hard to listen to. Not putting down the callers ... just keeping it real. Had I been more prepared, it woulda been a better show. Honesty. Comments[2] |
Wed, 14 December 2005 I talked with Chris Faulkner, CEO of CI Host.com. He discussed internet shopping and security. A good show. The live airing cut short - here's the whole thing. Comments[0] |
Wed, 14 December 2005 Niagara County Community College is thinking about adding a dorm, Newfane is hiding public information and Lockport's Bruce Fraser is leaving soon. It's a day for school stuff. And a good program to download, too. Comments[0] |

Thu, 8 December 2005 County Manager Greg Lewis seemed to get perturbed with certain lines of questioning. I'm not sure how it sounded out there in radio land, but it was mildly humorous from the comfort of my control room. Comments[1] |
Wed, 7 December 2005 Bill Dutcher talked about his new book, Fictoids. It was a very funny book - at least what I've read of it so far. Comments[0] |
Wed, 7 December 2005 Topics included Delphi on strike, John Kerry (yawn), and Biblical contradictions. Comments[1] |
Tue, 6 December 2005 The show started with a letter from John Cleese about England "revoking our independence" since we've done a poor job of governing ourselves (i.e. electing Bush) and quickly moved to me talking about the New York State Lottery, which I morally oppose. Half way through the show, Tom Christy joined me to announce that he will be WLVL's new Scholastic Bowl host for the 2006 year. Now that's radio worth listening to. One caller was whining something about John Kerry. I didn't get it. He said I was "stupider" than he thought. It's an upgrade from what I was called yesterday, I guess. Mon, 5 December 2005 We discussed a variety of issues - starting with capital punishment ... and special laws for police ... also Newfane School Board member Rick Ruhmel. And Delphi came up again. Plus some idiot swore. People, I tell ya. Comments[0] |
Fri, 2 December 2005 Uncle Higgly talked about his book, Mr. Gonopolis and his 12 Holsteins - A Christmas Story. It's very funny. I have the audio version. As he said on the interview, if you order, use SCOTT as a coupon code and he'll take 20% off. So - ya got that goin' for ya. :) Comments[0] |
Fri, 2 December 2005 The Mayor of Lockport was in talking about what's going on in the city. We talked about improvements downtown - including the City Center - the parking ramp - traffic light timing - show removal - and more. A lot of traffic related stuff: from one-way streets to speed limits to lights downtown. Good show overall. Comments[1] |
Thu, 1 December 2005 Thursday we went back to a couple topics from earlier in the week. First, I played PC Tony's thoughts on Delphi from Wednesday's show and took phone calls on that. Then I read a couple letters on the Lockport Superintendent search and gave one of the subjects of one of the letters (Renee Knight) the opportunity to respond. Overall a great show. Comments[0] |
