Fri, 27 May 2005 Lockport Mayor talks about the recent council vote to suggest extending council terms to four years. We take phone calls and talk about his meeting with the president in Rochester. Good show. Comments[0] |
Thu, 26 May 2005 Paul Pazniokas called up to talk about his plan for voting reform which would assign each voter with a "vote word." Interesting idea. After we talked with Paul, I talked about other vote reform ideas and pointed out that New York hasn't gotten off it's butts to fix our system. The phones were quiet, but that didn't prevent me from talking. Wed, 25 May 2005 Can you believe New York State sex offenders got free Viagra through Medicaid? Neither did I. Not only should sex offenders not get free Viagra, NO ONE SHOULD. At least, that's my point of view. Very ... different show. Full of double entendre. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Tue, 24 May 2005 Tuesday's podcast focused on the role of religion in government - to which I say "there is none." I thought this show had a good monolog ... although, I'm sure some people thought "I talked too much." If you like hearing me complain, you'll like this show. Comments[0] |
Mon, 23 May 2005 After waiting to talk about the Newsweek fiasco, the guy who had wanted to talk about it finally called ... and then didn't want to talk about it. So I give you my take on that. Plus we discuss the state giving Viagra to sex offenders. And other stuff too. You'll fully enjoy this show or your money back. Comments[0] |
Fri, 20 May 2005 During Friday's show, I took the time to tell my friends on the Common Council - especially John Lombardi and Scott Cercone - as well as my friends at the US&J - what I was thinking. Apparently neither organization cares much for yours truly ... and well, let's just say, "What goes around - comes around." :) Comments[0] |
Thu, 19 May 2005 The county manager told us some intersting details about the Mount View proposed deal and said the golf course is NOT self sustaining. Intersting show. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Wed, 18 May 2005 John Hall and Melissa Dunlap from the Niagara County Historical Society chose "home remedies" for Wednesday May 18th's topic. The show got a lot of phone calls and was pretty good. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Tue, 17 May 2005 So Tuesday, May 17, 2005, I get a phone call from a woman upset that I was complaining about a TV commercial. The TV commercial was paid for by the NYS Teachers Association and it said "vote yes on your school budget." I thought it unconscionable that anyone could suggest approving all school budgets without knowing what is in the budget. So I suggested that anyone voting yes because of this commercial is stupid. Listen to the clip if you want to hear the woman's take. Note: I only make these clips available if I think they're really good. I think you will agree. Tue, 17 May 2005 Last opportunity this year to persuade people to vote for or against your budget ... and to get people to vote for your candidate. There's one really interesting phone call where a listener chastises me for asking people to think for themselves. Pretty funny. Comments[0] |
Mon, 16 May 2005 Friday the feds announced that they were looking to close the Niagara Falls Air Base. Now, I'm no fan of the military industrial complex, but I don't understand the thought of closing military bases while we're at war. Some listeners, however, think closing the base is a good thing.Comments[0] |
Fri, 13 May 2005 We continue taking phone calls from school board candidates ... plus I read a couple of their letters. Breaking news that the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Base is on the Pentagon's closure list. Wed, 11 May 2005 Here's the rundown. A caller wanted me to apologize for something which he misinterpreted. I'm not responsible for callers failure to comprehend my plain-spoken English. We banter back and forth for about 7 minutes on my calling the "Swift Boat Vets for Truth" Nazis. Then he politely hangs up. Invest the bandwith ... and the 10 minutes it'll take to listen to the whole thing. This is a definate highlight. Wed, 11 May 2005 The first phone call on this show has been the highlight of my ... oh, at least a month. Basically, this caller wanted to know why I hadn't appologized for calling veterans Nazis. The answer is becuase I didn't call vets Nazis. He also said that some vets won't listen to the show again until I do appologize. I wished them a fond farewell. We also touched on about a dozen other themes. Good show. Direct download: Dialog_051105_-_Open_Dialog_swiftboat_nazi_conversation.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:00 PM Comments[0] |
Tue, 10 May 2005 Lockport School Superintendent Bruce Fraser stopped in to talk about the school budget among other matters. Show flew by. Mandatory listening before voting on the budget if you live in the Lockport City School District. Comments[0] |
Mon, 9 May 2005 Mike Knopski (Director of Admissions), Marty Troia (Director of Career Development) and Mike Herman (Director of Athletics) ... all from Niagara University ... were Monday's guests. The show went well. The guests had pretty good personalities. And some of the questions were ... pretty interesting. I give it three stars out of five. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Fri, 6 May 2005 Friday's show was kind of all over the board. I complained about the stupid people of England for re-electing Tony "lapdog" Blair. Took phone calls. Talked about stuff. Download. Enjoy. Repeat. Comments[0] |
Thu, 5 May 2005 Tom Christy - live and in person - er, well, he was Thursday morning. What you're downloading is from earlier. You can't podcast live. That's against the principle of podcasting. Anywho - a good show. Tom's a great guest and I'm going to see how we can work him into the mix more often. Also - a great phone call from a gentleman who seems to believe that the ACLU is behind all the world's evil. Tom's response to the call was priceless. Worth it just for that exchange. (BTW - picture was taken at the Brewhaus, where Tom and I went for coffee after the show).Comments[0] |
Wed, 4 May 2005 We talked about a little bit of everything on Wednesday. One particular entertaining phone call concerned a guy with cats that he was looking to get rid of. I couldn't help him ... but told him where to go (no - not like that.) Another good call concerned regionalism from our friend Conspiracy Bob. And I'm sure I said some stupid stuff, too. Invest the 45 minutes - download the show and listen to it, okay? Comments[0] |

Mon, 2 May 2005 My friends in Newfane have riled me again ... what with deception on tax increases and the board president getting an "internship" with the district, it makes you wonder what the heck is going on down in Panther country. Technically, this was an open show, but after the first caller raised the Terry Schaivo issue from the dead (although not Terry herself), it was almost all Newfane all the time. Enjoy. The photo, by the way, is from my photo page. It's the card that came with my flowers that I got after the budget passed last year.
