Fri, 29 April 2005 WLVL station owner Dick Green and Common Council President John Lombardi joined Mayor Tucker to announce that WLVL would be sponsoring this years city of Lockport fireworks on July 4th. After the announcment, Dick and John high-tailed it outta there and left Tuck to fend for himself. The show wraps up with a conversation between me and Tuck about the toothpaste at the end of the tube. Kinda interesting. Enjoy. Thu, 28 April 2005 Thursday's show, Scott read a letter to the editor by Henry Wojtaszek about "Tommy Boy" Reynolds ... and picked it apart. On the Reynolds front, it turns out Reynolds gave an award to a scam artist (story on the blog). Also, Scott heard a rumor that some people in Newfane liked him so he went out of his way to make them mad at him ... again. Fun show. Download it. Listen to it. Pass it around to your friends. :) Comments[0] |
Wed, 27 April 2005 Leonard Roberto, founder of Primary Challenge and Jean Latona, Niagara County Coordinator, came into the WLVL studios to explain their group and entice normal citizens to run for office. Good show. A couple good - and pointed phone calls. Comments[0] |
Tue, 26 April 2005 Author Sammy Sorrell says we need to focus our resources on terrorism within our borders (a.k.a. crime). How do we do that though? We'll have to revisit this topic becuase 45 minutes just wasn't enough time.Direct download: Dialog_042605_-_Sammy_Sorrell_and_Homegrown_Terrorism.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 3:55 PM Comments[0] |
Mon, 25 April 2005 I had had enough of the hypocracy from the right ... and I let it be known. I assumed that people would call ME a hypocrit, but my detractors must be off enjoying a vacation with their oil profits or something.Comments[0] |
Fri, 22 April 2005 Friday's show started really slow. I actually had to threaten to run a test pattern to get people to call. But once it got going, it was fun. A lot of talk about local police. Some good. Some bad. Comments[0] |
Thu, 21 April 2005 Lotsa talk about the new DMV employees, DMV fees, etc. It was practically the DMV show. But ... as always ... Greg entertains. Comments[1] |
Wed, 20 April 2005 The fine folks from the Niagara County Historical Society made their visit to the studio this month a memorable one. We talked about old sayings. And I'm tellin' you, we took more phone calls today than I've taken in the last week combined. It was a very amusing show. Comments[0] |
Tue, 19 April 2005 Tuesday's show, we talked with Sam Williams from In This Together about Tom Reynolds' view on Social Security. As it turns out, the good congressman hasn't just been avoiding me, he's been avoiding his constituency. There's a great phone call about half way through with a caller saying that Reynolds said he won't come on the show cause I pick on him. Ha. What fun.Direct download: Dialog_041905_-_In_This_Together_(Social_Security).mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 11:12 AM Comments[1] |
Mon, 18 April 2005 Monday's show focused a lot on Newfane's upcoming budget vote. As you may know, I opposed the Newfane budget last year and got all sorts of hatemail/ threats because of it. And the budget passed anyway. People will work hard to pass it again this year ... and others will work hard to see it fail. Should be fun to watch. I talked during this show about a story in which a conservative posterchild suggests the assassination of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. A guy called to refute what I was saying. It was a good conversation. Overall, a good show. Enjoy. BTW, the picture has nothing to do with the story - I just thought it was funny that W, who admittedly doesn't read the papers, gave a speech to a bunch of journalists, who don't know how to report on politics.Comments[0] |
Fri, 15 April 2005 Friday's show consisted of three interviews. First, we talked with a representative of the IRS. Then we talked with someone about "tax freedom day" and finally, a gentleman who says we can fund government better ... without taxes. With just a minute or so to go in the show, I wrapped things up with George H.W. Bush's greatest hit, "Read My Lips; No New Taxes - the remix." It was a fun show. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Thu, 14 April 2005 Rick Williams and Ray Allen from the Niagara Falls Human Rights Commission were Thursday's guests. I gotta be honest, I was disappointed in the calls (or lack thereof) and it wasn't my best show ever (a little dry) ... but it's an important subject ... especially to Niagara Falls residents. Wed, 13 April 2005 Lyndon LaRouche joined us by phone again. We were scheduled to talk for 20 minutes ... which turned into the whole show. As he was before, Lyndon was a GREAT guest. Sound bites galore. Enjoy.Comments[0] |
Tue, 12 April 2005 Supervisor Tim Demler came in to the Lockport studio to talk about the going's on in Wheatfield. We actually spent a lot of time talking about the Niagara Wheatfield School Board's decision to buy some land for $600,000 ... despite the fact that it has a declared value of $150,000 and was recently purchased for just $125,000. Hmm. Interesting.Comments[0] |
Mon, 11 April 2005 Monday, April 11, 2005 - It was a Slacker Monday with order. I wanted to know what everyone thought of the proposal to require passports to come and go to Canada ... I got an earful. Some good phone calls in this one. Direct download: Dialog_041105_-_Slacker_Monday_Border_Patrol.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 6:53 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 8 April 2005 Legislator Aronow was in Friday and we talked about the union protests at the Republican press conference, the rumor that Glenn's being primaried this fall, and a variety of other things that came up. Comments[0] |
Thu, 7 April 2005 John D'Onofrio from the Union-Sun & Journal dropped by to talk SPORTS. Bad news: Due to a technical glitch, I missed the first part of the show. Good news: To compensate, I chose not to take John's picture to accompany the podcast. :) Comments[2] |
Wed, 6 April 2005 Bill Rolland and Tim Henderson from Residents for Responsible Government dropped by to talk up their spring meeting (4/14/05) at which Ralph Nader will be discussing the crap in our proverbial back yard. Bill and Tim took phone calls and answered questions. For more on this, check their web site.Comments[1] |
Tue, 5 April 2005 Tuesday's show featured frequent caller and listener Fred Laskey, who is starting a group called the Niagara County Taxpayers Union (wonder where he got the name?). Fred came on to plug their first meeting April 9th at 7 p.m. at the Lockport Library. Fore more information listen to the show.Comments[0] |
Mon, 4 April 2005 Monday's show discussed a variety of topics from cosmetic surgery ... to school aid ... to erectile disfunction and penile enlargement. Once the show starts to go downhill, it goes quick, ya know? Comments[0] |
Fri, 1 April 2005 Every Day is April Fools when you have to put up with the idiots we elect in New York State. We haven't had a budget on time in 21 years ... and they pass some shell of a budget Thursday and say they're done ... "but there's more work to do." In other words, they're not done ... and it wasn't on time. Unfortunately, the media has eaten it up. I complain about that and take a couple phone calls ... plus we play some fun political satire songs. Fri, 1 April 2005 I took some news clips and strung them together with some Eminem in the background. Poignant. Enjoy. Comments[0] |
Thu, 31 March 2005 Thursdays show dealt with how much government interferes with our lives ... and how big business is in bed with government to glean as much information from us as possible. We are catalogued. We are inventoried. We are not free. This topic will undoubtably come up again. There's a great thread on this topic on the forum at ScottLeffler.comComments[0] |
