Last open dialog of 2004. People shared their opinions on the year ending. And I asked folks what their favorite interviews of the year were, which i then used to create a clips show for the following day. One guy wanted to complain about one of our sponsors. Had to shut that down quickly. Not that i'm opposed to dissent � but if I were sponsoring a show where someone disses me, I'd be a little miffed. Lots of Starpoint discussion.

Open Dialog. Talked about the competing ball drops between Wilson and Lockport. Scott wonders aloud why the terror level hasn't been raised for New Years Eve. Maybe cause the election is over? I asked the folks what they thought were the big stories of the year.

Open Dialog. I asked listeners what the tops stories of 2004 were. we recapped the presidential election � and discussed John Kerry's future. A caller discussed Social Security privitazation. Another caller made a parallel between Iraq and Viet Nam. Plus more comments from more callers.

Slacker Monday. We begin reviewing the year. Ruthie calls, complains about the exporting of jobs. I picked on the Greater Niagara News "Holiday Edition." Al suggests we give each other cash as gifts so we can pay off our debts. A guy complained about the lack of places to shop downtown. Scott disagreed. "An Amendment To Be." - (worth downloading just for that). Legislature complaints ... even from Wilson Supervisor Jerry Dean.

Oops. Somehow this stopped recording about half way through this show, so we missed some stuff. Mayor Mike Tucker makes his last appearance of the year in studio. Maggie Lupo called to thank the city for helping with the North Park situation a few days earlier. A caller complained about the way the city takes care of the streets. Another caller seconds it. The mayor says the city will "enforce residency whenever we can."

Can you believe this show has lasted two full years? This marks the start of year three. We talked about the last 24 months ... overall, and enjoyable show.

As Scott took what was most likely a much-needed vacation day, fellow WLVL personality Good Neighbor Dave Marmon hosted the show in his absence. GND has a much softer personality than Scott � perfect for hosting a show with John Hall and Melissa Dunlap from the Niagara County Historical Society. This episode, they discuss Christmas memories.

We discuss Bernard Karick, football, profanity and Walmart's policy of not selling profane CDs. Magician Paul Kiev joined us via phone to discuss �The Legend of Earth Sea� on the Sci Fi channel. We discuss the city's assessor problems (and the town's involvement) ... the question asking soldier, Rummy's answer to it, �You go to war with the army you had. Not the army you wish you had.� A caller complained about Niagara Falls' attempt to spin off their library, thus creating a new tax. Plus, Scott interviews author Dean Koontz about his new book, �Life Expectancy.�

The Niagara County Legislature says they're not willing to take a mere $2 million for Mount View, since it's assessed at $9 million. Scott says get rid of it anyway. And we basically talk about the county's ineptitude. If you're looking to understand Niagara County in 43 minutes, this is the show to download.

This show was primarily on foreign policy. Scott asks why it is neccessary for us to bully the rest of the world. Some callers are upset with Scott's contentions.

An odd collection of happenings. Missing plastic explosives at a French airport. Missing airport uniforms in Canada - found for sale on eBay. And ... um ... where's that Osama guy? Oh, and, there seems to be $1 billion of taxpayers money that the state is using to fund pork projects. *sigh*

The show begins with Bob Pugh and a discussion of Light up Lockport. Then Scott discusses immigration and the need to eliminate provisions preventing foreign borns from becoming president.

John Edgell talks with Scott about his Arnold Schwarzenegger bobblehead dolls and the suit against him for it. We also have open Dialog. The show is shorter than usual because WLVL Newsdirector John Raymond had breaking news about Kitchen World - which had recently undergone a large fire - in the middle of the show and I cut that out.

Consumer Rerports Guy Michael Finney joins us by phone to help prevent us from getting ripped off. We discuss his book, Consumer Confidential and then had open Dialog thereafter. Missed the first couple minutes of the show. Sorry.
