Mon, 19 February 2007 Monday I spent a great deal of time dissecting some errors in Greater Niagara Newspapers publications. Oh - and what's George Maziarz going to do now that he's within a vote of being politically impotent? Might he switch? *please note this is pure speculation on my part. Mon, 12 February 2007 Monday I was peaved that Greater Niagara News - for the second time in a month - ran a stealth advertisement. A hit job designed to look like it was editorial content, but was really just more AES whining. I called and spoke with Steve Hall during the show, who said it won't happen again. Which is what I was told last time it happened ... last month. Good stuff. Comments[0]

Mon, 5 June 2006 Looks like the GOP is in trouble, so they've to bring out the old standards - flag burning and gay marriage. Fri, 26 May 2006 Mayor Tucker made quite an announcement on Friday, saying that assessment increases would be reduced by 40 percent across the board. He didn't tell the paper. He didn't even tell WLVL's news department. He told you directly - and he chose Dialog to do it. We also discussed Tom Lambalzer's sign issues. And took lots of calls. Good show. Comments[0]
Thu, 25 May 2006 Greater Niagara News' Tim Schmitt was in studio talking Thursday. He and I mainly talked hockey since the Sabres are such a hot commodity. I hope he joins us again in the finals. Comments[0]

Thu, 11 May 2006 Checkers guru John Herberger was in studio on Thursday talking about his bid to be the National Checkers Champ. He's going to Medina, Ohio in June and needs $500 to cover his expenses. Callers loved him. I did too. After John left, I complained about the "just say yes" ad campaign by the State Teacher's Union. To quote Ruthie, "What a Crock!" Enjoy. Comments[0]
Wed, 10 May 2006 Last week, a couple Lockport police cars smacked into each other on their way to a car chase. Three people got injured in the accident. Because of that, the guy they were chasing was charged with three counts of assault. Assault in absentia. How is that possible? I was a little perturbed. So were several callers. Good show. Enjoy. Fri, 5 May 2006 Friday's show was a bit of a release for Scott. He got to talk about all the stupid things the Democratic Party does. Scott, a reformed Democrat, says the donkeys (asses?) missed a great opportunity to take a seat in the ASSembly (coincindence, I think not). Was he too hard on the Dems? You be the judge. Fri, 21 April 2006 County Manager Greg Lewis is looking at another job. It pays a lot more than Niagara County pays. He says he wants to stay here ... but adds that we should sweeten the pot. What do you think Greg Lewis is worth? Plus we talked about Union Station. A man wants to buy the old train depot and refurbish it. Which I think is great. I just don't want him to do it with government money. Do you think it's worth it? Comments[0]

Wed, 29 March 2006 Wednesday, we took a couple of local news topics and rolled it into a nice philosophical discussion on the First Amendment. Should Ann Marie Reeb be allowed at the Starpoint meetings? And is it okay to anonymously flame people on the internet? Starpoint and the feds say no, respectively. Mon, 27 March 2006 I got a ticket on Friday night, which I, of course, bitched about. And the people gave me free legal advice on how to deal with it. Plus I talked about my dentist appointment, my skunk, and the church in North Tonawanda advising people that homosexuality is an abomination. Overall, a good show. Comments[0]

Mon, 13 March 2006 On Monday, Scott mourned the passing of Assemblywoman Sandra Lee Wirth, talked about Phyllis Green's absence and shared a sad experience with listeners ... and they shared, in turn. Mon, 27 February 2006 On Monday we talked about a proposed law that would require police officers to use the minimum amount of force to subdue a criminal. Rochester talk show host Bob Lonsberry thought it was a stupid idea. I disagreed. The callers almost all agreed with Lonsberry. It was a good show. Comments[0]
Fri, 24 February 2006 Mayor Tucker and I talked about downtown, Richmond Avenue, fire dispatch, the sexual predators law and dodge ball. A good show overall. Comments[0]
Thu, 23 February 2006 Thursday's show was sort of all over the board, but it started with a small rant by Scott about all the negative MySpace news. We also discussed Dubai Ports World at length. A solid B. Comments[0]
Wed, 22 February 2006 Bob Confer, vice president of Confer Plastics and columnist for the Union-Sun & Journal, was my guest on Wednesday. It was a great show. We talked about Bob's columns and focused on the global economy. For more on Bob, check Bob's web site.Comments[0]

Thu, 16 February 2006 Thursday, I read an email I got for a man who has been labeled a "sex offender" and we talked about what that means. We also discussed a proposed law that would essentially bar sex offenders from Lockport. Good thoughts from callers. Comments[0]
Wed, 15 February 2006 Doug Farley sat in for Melissa Dunlap on this episode. Doug and John Hall talked about music history in Niagara County - and especially the Lockport area.Comments[0]
Tue, 14 February 2006 So Tuesday's show was a continuation of a theme from Monday. Dick Cheney shot someone. It's still astounding. And I took a lot of phone calls from people on the subject. A good time. Oh, and we shared valentines thoughts from President Bush, VP Cheney and former president Bill Clinton. This is a good one, folks. Mon, 13 February 2006 Michele Johnston is a fan of the show who asked if she could be a guest. Since she's a nice person and also a local cab driver, I figured, "Why not? She probably has lots of funny stories and we'll just talk about whatever." Well, she clammed up once the mic got turned on. Standard broadcastophobia. But she tried. Anyway, a guest who doesn't talk makes for a long show, so I kicked her out at the first commercial break and then took phone calls on a variety of topics. John Lombardi dropped by and talked about Winter Fest and July 4th (2nd?) and Sal Paonessa called late in the show, too. Overall, a good show. Oh, and "Dick Cheney shot someone." Rosenwasser was good cause he's apparently not willing to kowtow to the powerful and blamed New York for their faults. Good for him. Hope you enjoy the show.Comments[0]
Thu, 9 February 2006 County Manager Greg Lewis. We talked about the golf course, Mount View, "the buffer zone" and more. Oh, and I stuck it to Rooney for his slight jab at me.
Hey Bob, if you're going to mock someone on your piece of crap web site, do it with some gusto, k? Comments[0]
Wed, 8 February 2006 Wednesday's show was a bore. It sucked. Don't bother downloading it. But if you do, listen in for my "jelly bean commentary" which I provide over the top of some of the callers. Frankly it was rude and stupid. But I did it anyway. Comments[0]
Tue, 7 February 2006 A bunch of people called the station over the weekend complaining about the way Main Street looked because all the garbage had blown all over the place. We couldn't discuss this on Monday cause we had to talk about the Superbowl commercials, so we talked about it on this show. Enjoy. Comments[0]
Mon, 6 February 2006 Racin' Ray Sherman helped me to host the Superbowl Ad Review show again this year. Overall, the game sucked ... and the commercials weren't really much better. Calls were slow to come in today, which makes no sense to me. I mean, what else did people want to talk about today? Comments[0]
Fri, 3 February 2006 Starpoint and Roy-Hart are two schools in the news and Scott gives his point of view ... plus what was the Union-Sun thinking with a headline like that? You'll have to listen to learn. Comments[0]
Thu, 2 February 2006 Racin' Ray co-hosted this no-holds-barred show where we talked about ... nothing and anything ... for an hour. Topics included Survivor, George Maziarz warchest, and what girls look good in t-shirts. Rather enjoyable ... if I do say so myself. Comments[0]
Wed, 1 February 2006 WLVL Sports Director Norm Palmer brought Lockport High School Athletic Director Pat Burke into the WLVL studios and we talked high school sports. Mon, 30 January 2006 Monday we just shot the breeze about whatever. Scott was a little tweaked that NYPA is trying to tell the county to be quiet. Also, why is the state involved in Erie County's tax system? Plus thoughts on the SOTU and Alito, and price gouging, too. Plus my buddy Dave dropped by with a girl ... but she was actually hot! Mon, 23 January 2006 There was a lot going on Monday. We began the show with part of an interview with Lyndon LaRouche (click here for the rest of that interview ... then we brought up the government case against Google (apparently the feds make the rules as they go along and the new rule is that you have to show them/tell them whatever they want) and then we wrapped up with a conversation with Karl Reile, the local distributor of the Liberty Dollar. Overall a good show, although lacking in the phone call department. Direct download: Dialog_012306_-_LaRouche_Reile_and_Google.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:00 PM Comments[0]
Fri, 20 January 2006 The city fined Lockport's Dan Kane for violating the garbage law that says you can't put your garbage out more than 24 hours before garbage day. Thing is, Dan didn't do it. It was his tenants. I think that's bull - no matter what they law might say. Some folks agreed. Others didn't. Also, despite an announcement from Osama Bin Laden that Al-Queda will attack, the US government keeps the terror level at yellow, citing "no credible evidence." Since when is a confession not credible evidence? Comments[0]
Thu, 19 January 2006 US Senator Hillary Clinton made some really dumb remarks the other day. As did New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. Why do politicians open their mouths is such stupid stuff is going to fall out? Oh, and we also talked about the Amherst fight with Wal-Mart. No shortage of stupid today. Unfortunately, I missed like the first 90 seconds, but I think you'll catch on quickly.Direct download: Dialog_011906_-_Stupid_is_as_stupid_says.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:26 PM Comments[0]
Wed, 18 January 2006 John Hall did most of the talking this episode as the topic was Volunteer Firemen, something he's much more familiar with than Melissa is. We didn't get many calls, but one was chock full of information.
The website given out during the show was FASNY.com. Comments[0]

Mon, 16 January 2006 Monday's show started with bits from an interview I did with former congressman Bob Barr. (for the whole interview, click here) After that, I took phone calls on the matter. Thu, 12 January 2006 In Thursday's show we revisted a couple topics from the day before that never really materialized. We talked about WalMart and how the town has handled the proposed Super WalMart. We talked about Lockport-NY.com again (still no update) and we talked about rude people. And Scott went on a tirade about people being unable to wait on hold. Comments[1]
Wed, 11 January 2006 We had a variety of topics on Wednesday, but one of the things I really hammered home was the fact that a local web site had asked people for a whole lotta money ... and hasn't updated in 11 days. If I was one of the people that had "donated," I'd be upset. For the record, scottleffler.com costs about $300 a year to run. This other website is asking for $4,000. Seems like a bit much to me. Mon, 9 January 2006 We're all familiar with the corruption problems of the GOP of late. The Dems say they'd do better. But their track record indicates otherwise. Truth is, both major parties are corrupt. We need to make them minor parties. A good show. Some good calls. Enjoy. Comments[0]

Also, Scott discussed the city's Winter Fun Fest and how we can save it since the city abandoned it. Other than that, it was up to the callers - whom I had to threaten in order to get them to call. I'm still sick. Getting better. I swear I am. No really. Another week and I'll be okay. I hope. Comments[0]
Fri, 30 December 2005 "The sickness" just won't go away ... but Mayor Mike makes it more bearable, wrapping up the year with questions about downtown, the Flight of Five, and Winter Fun Fest, which apparently we have to save from the jaws of death. Hmm. Stay tuned for more details. Comments[1]
Thu, 29 December 2005 Tom Christy co-hosted to help talk about the year 2005 in review. Of course, we discussed Delphi ... plus local gas prices, the election and more. I was still pretty sick so it was mainly Tom and callers. Comments[0]
Tue, 27 December 2005 After six days, Scott continues to evade death. Tuesday's show he took a lot of phone calls - cause he didn't have the strength to talk much. I really appreciate those who called in and saved me. It's in interesting show to listen to if you like the sound of a talk show host choking to death ... which I'm sure many of you do. :)Comments[0]
Fri, 23 December 2005 This edition starting with the "did you run out of insults for our president" bit - and went downhill from there. Un-PC phrases included "fire the fatty" and a bit on incest. Enjoy ... if you can stomach it. Direct download: Dialog_122305_-_Worst_of_Leffler_Volume_8.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:41 PM Comments[0]
Wed, 21 December 2005 With me down for the count, Good Neighbor Dave Marmon filled in most graciously. The show was to be about Christmas hymns, but it changed with the breeze. Hope you enjoy. Comments[0]
Tue, 20 December 2005 Tuesday's show we discussed things that the Constitution allowed us to do but that the state has taken away. Our rights are eroding and they'll continue to as long as we continue to elect the same politicrats. Good show, IMHO.Comments[0]
Mon, 19 December 2005 We started with a "commercial" from our "new sponsor," and then led to a good discussion on the government tearing away at our freedoms - specifically the president signing an executive order calling for wire taps without warrants, a clear abridgement of our 4th Amendment rights. Oh, and Cheney Claus made an appearance or two. Overall, I thought it was a great show. Hope you enjoy. Comments[0]
Fri, 16 December 2005 I just think this gay cowboy movie is the funniest damn thing. So I talked about it - by myself - for an hour. We got several complaint calls during the show. People thought I was making it up. I'm not. A gay cowboy movie. Whoda Thunkit?Comments[2]
Thu, 15 December 2005 I had no real plan when starting the show, just throwing open the phone lines and seeing what the people wanted to talk about. Well, one guy wanted to talk about the Red Cross ... and other's did too. Lots of talk about the Red Cross vs. Salvation Army vs. FEMA vs. United Way. Interesting stuff. But, frankly, I thought it was a little hard to listen to. Not putting down the callers ... just keeping it real. Had I been more prepared, it woulda been a better show. Honesty. Comments[2]
Wed, 14 December 2005 Niagara County Community College is thinking about adding a dorm, Newfane is hiding public information and Lockport's Bruce Fraser is leaving soon. It's a day for school stuff. And a good program to download, too. Comments[0]

Thu, 8 December 2005 County Manager Greg Lewis seemed to get perturbed with certain lines of questioning. I'm not sure how it sounded out there in radio land, but it was mildly humorous from the comfort of my control room. Comments[1]
Wed, 7 December 2005 Topics included Delphi on strike, John Kerry (yawn), and Biblical contradictions. Comments[1]
Tue, 6 December 2005 The show started with a letter from John Cleese about England "revoking our independence" since we've done a poor job of governing ourselves (i.e. electing Bush) and quickly moved to me talking about the New York State Lottery, which I morally oppose. Half way through the show, Tom Christy joined me to announce that he will be WLVL's new Scholastic Bowl host for the 2006 year. Now that's radio worth listening to. One caller was whining something about John Kerry. I didn't get it. He said I was "stupider" than he thought. It's an upgrade from what I was called yesterday, I guess. Mon, 5 December 2005 We discussed a variety of issues - starting with capital punishment ... and special laws for police ... also Newfane School Board member Rick Ruhmel. And Delphi came up again. Plus some idiot swore. People, I tell ya. Comments[0]
Fri, 2 December 2005 The Mayor of Lockport was in talking about what's going on in the city. We talked about improvements downtown - including the City Center - the parking ramp - traffic light timing - show removal - and more. A lot of traffic related stuff: from one-way streets to speed limits to lights downtown. Good show overall. Comments[1]
Thu, 1 December 2005 Thursday we went back to a couple topics from earlier in the week. First, I played PC Tony's thoughts on Delphi from Wednesday's show and took phone calls on that. Then I read a couple letters on the Lockport Superintendent search and gave one of the subjects of one of the letters (Renee Knight) the opportunity to respond. Overall a great show. Comments[0]

Tue, 29 November 2005 Canada voted "no confidence" in their government. Why can't we do the same? And who would you vote no confidence in? Lots of good discussion from callers. Overall a very good show.Comments[0]
Mon, 28 November 2005 Monday's show we talked about the search for a superintendent in the Lockport school district, as well as the Starpoint School Board decision to extend their superintendent's contract by two years. Wed, 23 November 2005 Got an email from a guy who doesn't like the brand of show I do. I disputed his claim that he was in the majority. And a bunch of callers agreed with me. That doesn't happen often. Oh, and the "Target" caller from the other day called to say he was wrong. Good for him. Comments[0]
Tue, 22 November 2005 Another all over the board show. It looks like Apolito won his election and Ceretto beat Johnson. Plus in the town of Niagara, there's a TIE! Now what? Comments[0]
Mon, 21 November 2005 We talked about a little bit of everything - from local and national politics to Target and Walmart to Michael Moore and more. And Scott played lots of funnies. Overall a good show. Enjoy.Comments[0]
Fri, 18 November 2005 What DIDN'T we talk about on Friday. From Harry Potter and what houses George Bush and Dick Cheney would be in ... to college funding ... to waking up next to a naked guy ... to a woman comparing me to a teacher ... Friday's show was ALL OVER THE BOARD. But man, it was fun. Comments[1]
Thu, 17 November 2005 Dolah is a job transition expert. What with all the termoil and Delphi and job tension in WNY in general, I thought she'd make for a great guest. But for some reason, people were apprehensive to call - so she and I goofed off for an hour.Comments[0]
Wed, 16 November 2005 Ann Marie Linnaberi joined Melissa in studio to talk about Thanksgiving traditions and more.Comments[0]
Tue, 15 November 2005 We talked about businesses that have gone out of business and what you'd like to see in some "shells," plus the tax breaks for Dave Ulrich and more. Overall a good show. Not great - I'll be honest - but good. Comments[0]
Mon, 14 November 2005 There was a great post to the forum at ScottLeffler.com that led to me talking about funny things men do/say/etc. Intersperced with that, people called and talked about whatever they wanted to. Much of the conversation was about pensions. Overall a fun show. Comments[0]

Thu, 10 November 2005 Racin' Ray Sherman joined me as co-host to share stories of "customer service" gone awry. Fri, 4 November 2005 Legislative candidates in the 19th district, Mike Hill and John Villella were in studio Friday taking phone calls. One rather interesting phone call asked the candidates who they supported for sheriff. Each candidate supports the other party's candidate for sheriff. Hmm. Interesting. Short show due to lotsa commercials. Enjoy what there is, though. Comments[1]
Thu, 3 November 2005 County Manager Greg Lewis was in studio talking mainly about the county budget. He said it's irresponsible to ask for a zero budget increase at this late date.Comments[0]
Wed, 2 November 2005 Wednesday's show was all over the proverbial map. We talked about politics and Delphi ... and took lotsa phone calls about the same. I appear to have had too much coffee before the show started. Bzzt. Comments[0]

Mon, 31 October 2005 So here's the dillio: I got sick of listening to the presidents same damn line of reasoning every other week about why we must "stay the course (or is that coarse) in Iraq," so I dropped the official Presidents Weekly Radio Address in favor of the hipper WeeklyRadioAddress.com. And since I was feeling comedic, I played an O'Reilly Factor parody and a song Scooter Libby sang in the shower. Plus I took phone calls, including one by that weenie Sal Paonessa. Overall, a fun show. BTW, they've been shorter than usual lately because of all the political ads. See, I take the ads out for the podcast. Just a little thing I do for ya. :)

Thu, 20 October 2005 We had an open Dialog on Thursday, but the phones were slow to ring ... so Scott threw together a topic real quick ... why do we have a race for sheriff? Mon, 17 October 2005 Scott was at a seminar to learn how to do his job ... and while he was learning, Tom was doing. Took a phone call for Tradio. Couldn't sell that damn Villanova shirt.
Side note: It's always fun to see who calls when I'm away. It's the same phony people that are afraid to call when I'm in cause I'll call them on their lies. For example, I challenge anyone to find an instance when I bashed Clip Smith ... or allowed anyone to do so without checking their comments. Comments[0]
Fri, 14 October 2005 LCTV talk show host and friend of mine, Tom Christy was in studio Friday to discuss our recent trip to New York City. We really just wasted an hour of our lives and if you listen, you'll be wasting an hour of yours, too. But ... have at it if you'd like. The pictures I mentioned can be viewed here.Comments[0]
Thu, 13 October 2005 I was done with my rants about Delphi. But the callers sure weren't. I offered "open Dialog," but I think every call was about the ongoing situation with Delphi. A couple of current Delphi employees called us and a couple of retirees did, too. Overall, a very entertaining show. One note; a caller said something about my not feeling bad for the workers. That's not true. I really do feel for them. I just don't think they are blameless in the situation. Plenty of blame to go around, unfortunately.Comments[0]
Wed, 12 October 2005 GOP Election Commissioner Scott Kiedrowski was in studio on Wednesday to talk about what's going on at the BOE. Of course, I've been hard on the board and I asked the questions I wanted answers to. I wasn't about the "beat him up" since he was nice enough to come in, but that didn't stop some callers from doing it. Hopefully, Scott's compadre Nancy Smith will come in studio soon as well.Comments[0]
Tue, 11 October 2005 We continued Tuesday from where we left off Monday. I read a letter of a former Delphi employee which highlights some of the problems in the company over the years. Got several phone calls. All good. Download and enjoy. Comments[0]
Mon, 10 October 2005 Delphi's announced bankruptcy filing is leaving Western New York confused and reeling. We discussed that Monday morning. Plus, the president did his weekly report on what he thinks is the most important thing in the land. This week, he thought the bio of his Supreme Court Nominee was more important than anything else. Um okay. I let Ruthie do the retort for me. Took her all of 7 seconds. Good show overall, lots of voices I was unfamiliar with. Enjoy.
Mon, 10 October 2005 Delphi's weekend announcement that it was filing for bankruptcy sent shockwaves through Western New York. We discussed it. Several different people called. I am now - officially - a Libertarian. We also discussed the new Supreme Court nominee and I butted heads with a butthead. Anywho - download, enjoy, repeat.Comments[0]
Fri, 30 September 2005 Mayor Mike Tucker was our last guest during the 9 a.m. hour of Dialog. As of next week, she moves to 11. Tuck and I talked about the budget, Main Street, Richmond Avenue and more. Good show. Wish you coulda seen him dance. Comments[0]
Thu, 29 September 2005 Sheriff's candidate Brian Grear felt slighted when the Sheriff's deputies union had a "show of hands" vote to endorse a candidate for Sheriff. Scott couldn't blame him. Brian was the first caller of the show, in which we also discussed Tom Delay and the Seneca Nation of Indians new hotel. Good show. Comments[0]

Tue, 27 September 2005 We continued Monday's theme of coming up with small hints to help make our community a better place. For example: fix a pothole on Olcott Street; fix street signs on Main Street; flashing red lights on Main; a stuck red light in NF. Overall a good show. Comments[0]

Fri, 23 September 2005 Friday's show was all over the board. We talked about Dennis Virtuoso being the exception to the Democrat rule (that they're not bright), Keith McNall pushing his luck in saying Glenn Aronow is up to dirty tricks, and political signs. Overall, a good show. Comments[0]
Thu, 22 September 2005 Jim Hufnagel and Joan Johnson of Niagara Heritage Partnership were in studio to discuss their contention that the Robert Moses Parkway is a security threat to the New York Power Authority. Hufnagel said the power project could be our New Orleans' levies. He also asked for the resignations of Lewiston Mayor Richard Soluri and NT Councilman Brett Sommer from the Greenway commission.Comments[0]
Wed, 21 September 2005 John Hall and Melissa Dunlap from the Niagara County Historical Society were in studio discussing the Village and Town of Lewiston. We also discussed the Lewiston/Queenston Bridge, which ran into a conversation on bridges to Canada in general ... which caused Scott to recall another school skipping experience when he and some buddies walked to Canada to skip school. Good times. Comments[0]
Tue, 20 September 2005 Tuesday we talked about just about everything; starting with Scott complaining about CSEA and the Canal Corp combining forces to pick your pockets, then onto Monday's topic again (Casino Cash), and finally handicapped parking (how'd that happen). Plus somewhere in the middle we talked about school attendence and Scott told a story of getting caught skipping school. Overall a good show, but the audio quality of this one is kind of suspect - especially toward the end. Sorry about that. Hope you enjoy, nonetheless. Comments[0]
Mon, 19 September 2005 We began with the presidents weekly radio address and Scott's take on it. Then we switched to a very local topic - Niagara County's lawsuit against the city of Niagara Falls for the casino cash. Scott asked a simple question. Here's the scenario: You have $100. You have to give it to either NF Mayor Vince Anello or NC Legislator Malcomb Needler to spend on your behalf. Who gets the money? Fri, 16 September 2005 Friday's show was a mismash of a bunch of things. We talked about something old (the Subway discussion we had the other day concerning lunches at Starpoint); something new (Arnold Schwarzenegger wants California to have the best school lunches in the nation); something borrowed (the news stories that I "borrowed" from other news sources); and something Bu (that's short for Bubonic Plague, which some mice in New Jersey were infected with in a lab ... and then LOST!!!). Good show. Ends on a down note with a very frumpy woman, who's upset that it was rainy. Sheesh. Can't please some people.Comments[0]

Mon, 5 September 2005 Although it was Labor Day - and Scott was taking the day off - he still responded to the President's Weekly Radio Address. And also shared his thoughts on Kanye West's comments during Friday's relief concert. Plus, we played eight songs that were anti-war/pro-peace/anti GWB.
Here's the song list:
# 1) Jacob's Ladder - by Chumbawumba.
# 2) Teach Peace - The Tom Conner Band
# 3) Lean on Me - ABC Radio Network
# 4) Shame on You, Mr Bush - Jocke Bobers/Janne Palmen
# 5) Sunday, Bloody Sunday - The Party Party
# 6) I am a Patriot - Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam)
# 7) Wake Up - Cold Duck Complex
# 8) MKLVFKWR - Public Enemy and Moby

Thu, 1 September 2005 This is Lyndon's third trip to Dialog. And man, was it a fun show. Lyn makes me look like a conservative, the things he says about the administration. We talked about "acting president" Dick Cheney pushing for a pre-emptive nuclear attack on Iran, September 11th, and Hurricane Katrina. This is one to listen to over and over.
For more information on Lyn, visit LaRouchePAC.comComments[0]
Wed, 31 August 2005 Scott took issue with the "strike talk" at Lockport Memorial Hospital. We also discussed gasoline prices and some other fun stuff. Enjoy. Comments[0]
Tue, 30 August 2005 Congresswoman Louise Slaughter made a rare appearance on Dialog. It's been 18 months since her last visit. Tue, 23 August 2005 We begin the show with a (fair) assumption. We're anti-business. The question of the day is ... why? Why all the rules and regulations? Why is New York 49th in the Tax Foundation's list of business friendly states? Some good calls and astute points. Comments[0]
Mon, 22 August 2005 President's weekly radio address, then Scott's retort (which got cut off ... for the full thing, click here. Some guy called in to complain about Scott's "whining" without a solution. Same caller said he's boycotting business that advertise during Dialog. But when Scott asked the caller for a solution of his own, the caller hung up. Others called to agree or disagree with the lone boycotter. Overall, a good show. Enjoy. Comments[0]

Mon, 15 August 2005 The president says we must stay the course in Iraq - cause of all the good reason's we're there in the first place. How many reasons are there, after-all? Phone calls ranged from a guy who needed a house for his cats to people asking where we'll start war next. Iran? Syria? I guess we'll just have to wait to find out. The "consolation" is that we probably won't have to wait too long.Comments[0]

Mon, 8 August 2005 We started a new feature on Monday. Scott played the Presidents Weekly Radio Address ... then gave his point of view on the topic at hand - in this case, the economy. Also Monday, Ed McDonald gave his version of the McDonald vs. Aronow story, we discussed the City of Lockport hiring new police, civics lessons from professor Sandra Day O'Connnor, Glenn dissed Ed, and more. A very entertaining and energetic episode of Dialog. Finally, I have decided to rename "slacker Monday," since I don't slack that much for Monday's show. I'm thinking "MRE: Monday's Review of Everthing." Comments[0]

Thu, 4 August 2005 SCOTUS nominee John Roberts was the topic of the day Thursday. Grant Lally of the New York Republican Lawyers Association played it cool. Meanwhile, Scott was basically bored by the Roberts nomination. So he's conservative. What the hell did you expect George Bush to do? I know other liberal groups and shows are comparing this guy to Satan ... I just don't see it. Comments[0]
Wed, 3 August 2005 It's always fun when legislators Glenn Aronow and Rick Updegrove share in the Dialog. These are two serious guys ... but who don't take life TOO serious. Tue, 26 July 2005 Tuesday was an Open Dialog, but Scott spent a decent amount of time picking on fellow WLVL talk show hosts Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. We also discussed Amer, Niagara County cancer rates, traitor Karl Rove and more.Comments[1]
Mon, 25 July 2005 Monday we discussed that traitor Karl Rove and the ongoing series in the Gazette and the US&J about toxic crap in our back yards. We veered a little to discuss eminent domain and other stuff too. Overall, a decent show. Enjoy at will. Comments[2]
Fri, 22 July 2005 Friday Scott talked about a variety of topics ... from the Permanent Act ... to TraitorGate starring Karl Rove ... to alleged police brutality in Lockport ... to George Maziarz' fundraising prowess. We heard from someonw who's not supposed to call. And more. Comments[0]
Thu, 21 July 2005 County Manager Greg Lewis discussed Niagara County water quality (he has no problem drinking it); eminent domain (a good thing, apparently); non-profit groups (he likes 'em); and a bunch of other stuff too. Download away, folks. Comments[0]

Fri, 15 July 2005 On the fifth day, Tom interviewed Tom Riley, executive director from LCTV. Also, several people called to tell Tom how much they loved his hosting this week and how much they hate Leffler. Unfortunately for them, this is Tom's last stand as Dialog host until Scott gets another day off ... and God knows when that will be. And someone calls late in the show telling him he talks too much and should take more calls ... to which Tom explained that he was talking BECAUSE THERE WERE NO CALLS!!! Good times. Fri, 8 July 2005 The day after the London bombing, we hosted two guests on the topic. Ilan Berman, vice president for policy at the American Foreign Policy Council took the first 15 minutes of the show or so ... and Laina Farhat-Holzman took another 15 minute segment. Dr. Farhat-Holzman explained that the Muslim extremists are trying to get moderate Muslims to feat them ... and that's one of the reasons for the attacks. Great show, IMHO. Download it often. Comments[0]
Thu, 7 July 2005 A brutal attack against the city of London was orchestrated early in the morning on July 7th. We discussed the bombings that left dozens dead and hundreds injured ... how it affects us ... and why do we have color coded security if we're just going to stay at constant yellow. (note: after the show, the color was raised to orange "for mass transit systems.") I badgered some folks for not caring ... some took offense.Direct download: Dialog_070705_-_London_Terrorist_Attack.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 10:45 AM Comments[0]
Wed, 6 July 2005 We held a George W. Bush birthday bash for the president's 59th. Some people took offense (big shock) and other's took pot shots at W. We spoke with Robert Rudelic about power tapping ... a sort of accupuncture that can help calm us liberals down (or anyone for that matter) when we get all frustrated. Robert said he has sessions designed specifically for liberals upset about W ... and he usually gets $175 an hour!!! Gotta love that free-market economy. Oh, by the way, I make people sick. :)Comments[0]
Tue, 5 July 2005 Tuesday's guest talked about The George Washington Prophecy. Daniel Lion believes that our first president saw the future of the United States and warned of such events as the Civil War and September 11th. Kind of a different guest for us, but I found him interesting ... and so did some of the callers.

Mon, 4 July 2005 I took July 4th off - like any red-blooded American would ... and instead played a few of my favorite clips. We begin with an interview with Gary Hayes, candidate for Sheriff. Then a discussion on Swift Boat Vets and wrap things up with a monolog about George W. Bush's vacation time. After all is said and done, a little encore song called "Kick Out the Republicans." It's got a good beat. You can dance to it. And a great message too.Comments[0]
Fri, 1 July 2005 Friday's show was all over the board ... just like I like it. Comments[0]
Thu, 30 June 2005 Peter De Krassel talked about what's wrong with America and how we can fix it. De Krassel seemed to think that emulating Hong Kong as much as possible is the answer to alot of our problems. Hmm. Interesting. I'll probably bring this guy back on again some time just cause he was so interesting.

Tue, 21 June 2005 Jim Haid came out to talk about Group Workcamps, a great organization that gets kids to come fix up Lockport. After the break, we opened things up and mainly talked about Dick Durbin. A caller tried to slam Durbin ... but it didn't work out that way. Fri, 17 June 2005 We started with a monolog by Scott about the situation with the Newfane Superintendent's contract. Jim Mills (the Superintendent) called to correct Scott on some issues ... and then when Scott asked him some questions, Mills bolted. Numerous calls followed about the Newfane district. Overall, a very good show. Comments[1]
Thu, 16 June 2005 The Niagara County manager took some good phone calls and answered some good questions. We talked about the problems in Erie County and I asked him directly if we test for plutonium in the drinking water. He didn't know but said he'd find out. Comments[1]

Fri, 10 June 2005 Legislator Aronow was hit with good questions right from the beginnning of the show. We talked about Niagara County's water supply (is there Plutonium in it? - Glenn's checking). We also discussed his opponent, casino money and that grundler we've heard so much about. Glenn's always entertaining ... and Friday was no different. Comments[0]
Thu, 9 June 2005 Continuing with a theme for the week, we discussed the hazardous crap at Starpoint. Annemarie Reeb was in studio to discuss what they know about Starpoint and what they don't know. Several phone calls toward the end of the show.Comments[0]
Wed, 8 June 2005 After a quick "Swiftboat Nazi" call, we got right back to talking about the nasty crap that's in the water ... the air ... and the ground. Overall, a good show. Comments[0]
Tue, 7 June 2005 Tuesday's show was quite serious. Let me sum it up. Some people in the scientific community believe that there may be Plutonium in the drinking water in Lewiston ... and believe that Niagara County is a hazard to your health. I talked with Lou Riccuiti (pictured) and Dr. Janette Sherman about the findings and what it all means.Comments[0]
Mon, 6 June 2005 Typical Slacker Monday. I prepared for nothing and yet was ready for anything. Well, don't ya know this guy calls with a doom and gloom prediction and says Lockport's the pits and never will improve. The callers didn't stand for it. He got ripped. And good. Fun comments. Fri, 3 June 2005 On Friday, Tom hosted Dialog while Scott took a vacation day to catch up on doing nothing. Tom fielded a bunch of calls on a variety of topics and heard from some friends we haven't heard from in a while, including Al - who said he won't call me until I appologize. To quote George Bush the elder: "Na Ga Doit. Wouldn't be prudent." Comments[0]
Thu, 2 June 2005 LCTV Host and all-around good guy Tom Christy co-hosted Thursday's show. We talked about the Confederate flag a little more; (Tom isn't really writing a book called: "Slavery - It Was Good for the Slaves." We made that up); Deep Throat; John McCain and other fun stuff. Download. Enjoy. Repeat. Comments[0]
Wed, 1 June 2005 Wednesday started where Tuesday left off. More thoughts on the flying of the Confederate flag. I say it's offensive. Other's feel differently. The last caller on this podcast actually tries to defend slavery of all things. Imagine that. A Dialog first, I assure you. Other topics on this podcast, the ACLU (good) and DeepThroat (also good). Tue, 31 May 2005 Tuesday we did "Slacker Tuesday" since there was no Monday show ... and Scott discussed something that irritated him: Confederate flags. He just doesn't get it. Do people not know what the Confederacy stood for? Or do they not care? Why not display a Nazi flag? Same basic tone, right? Some interesting phone calls. No one outright stood up for the Confederate flag fliers ... but a few people backhandedly did. Thu, 26 May 2005 Paul Pazniokas called up to talk about his plan for voting reform which would assign each voter with a "vote word." Interesting idea. Tue, 24 May 2005 Tuesday's podcast focused on the role of religion in government - to which I say "there is none." I thought this show had a good monolog ... although, I'm sure some people thought "I talked too much." If you like hearing me complain, you'll like this show. Comments[0]
Mon, 23 May 2005 After waiting to talk about the Newsweek fiasco, the guy who had wanted to talk about it finally called ... and then didn't want to talk about it. So I give you my take on that. The answer is becuase I didn't call vets Nazis. He also said that some vets won't listen to the show again until I do appologize. I wished them a fond farewell. Thu, 5 May 2005 Tom Christy - live and in person - er, well, he was Thursday morning. What you're downloading is from earlier. You can't podcast live. That's against the principle of podcasting. Anywho - a good show. Tom's a great guest and I'm going to see how we can work him into the mix more often. Also - a great phone call from a gentleman who seems to believe that the ACLU is behind all the world's evil. Tom's response to the call was priceless. Worth it just for that exchange. (BTW - picture was taken at the Brewhaus, where Tom and I went for coffee after the show).Comments[0]
Wed, 4 May 2005 We talked about a little bit of everything on Wednesday. One particular entertaining phone call concerned a guy with cats that he was looking to get rid of. I couldn't help him ... but told him where to go (no - not like that.) Another good call concerned regionalism from our friend Conspiracy Bob. And I'm sure I said some stupid stuff, too. Mon, 2 May 2005 My friends in Newfane have riled me again ... what with deception on tax increases and the board president getting an "internship" with the district, it makes you wonder what the heck is going on down in Panther country. Technically, this was an open show, but after the first caller raised the Terry Schaivo issue from the dead (although not Terry herself), it was almost all Newfane all the time. Enjoy. Thu, 28 April 2005 Thursday's show, Scott read a letter to the editor by Henry Wojtaszek about "Tommy Boy" Reynolds ... and picked it apart. On the Reynolds front, it turns out Reynolds gave an award to a scam artist (story on the blog). Also, Scott heard a rumor that some people in Newfane liked him so he went out of his way to make them mad at him ... again. Fun show. Download it. Listen to it. Mon, 18 April 2005 Monday's show focused a lot on Newfane's upcoming budget vote. As you may know, I opposed the Newfane budget last year and got all sorts of hatemail/ threats because of it. And the budget passed anyway. People will work hard to pass it again this year ... and others will work hard to see it fail. Should be fun to watch. I talked during this show about a story in which a conservative posterchild suggests the assassination of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. A guy called to refute what I was saying. It was a good conversation. Overall, a good show. Enjoy. BTW, the picture has nothing to do with the story - I just thought it was funny that W, who admittedly doesn't read the papers, gave a speech to a bunch of journalists, who don't know how to report on politics.Comments[0]
Fri, 15 April 2005 Friday's show consisted of three interviews. First, we talked with a representative of the IRS. Fri, 25 March 2005 Mayor Mike in for his montly visit. We talked about the city's "illegal signs" and my buddy Don Perry was kind enough to call ... and I even let him ask a question ... and whaddya know ... it was about illegal aliens. Good times. Comments[0]
Thu, 24 March 2005 Thursday, March 24, 2005. Tom Christy of LCTV's Legislative Journal and founder of the FAIR Government Foundation dropped by to chat for a bit. The conversation went well - so well, in fact, that Tom will be back in about six weeks to sit down and do another show. Comments[0]
Wed, 23 March 2005 Wednesday's show was a hoot. Terry Jones was the guest ... He was supposed to be on for the 1st half of the show, but didn't appear until after the bottom of the hour. BUT Mr. Jones definately made himself worth the wait. If this show isn't riddled with promo material, I don't know what is. Comments[1]
Tue, 22 March 2005 A guest from "For Our Grandchildren" was supposed to take up the 1st half of the show to discuss why it's good to privatize Social Security ... but she failed to show up. New York State's AARP Director Lois Aronstein joined us to explain why privatization is bad after the first break. Mon, 21 March 2005 Monday was your usual slacker Monday ... with the exception that Scott had a serious rant to start the show. Congress clearly overstepped their bounds on this Shiavo thing. Thu, 17 March 2005 Thursday, March 17, 2005. Niagara County Manager Greg Lewis in for the montly Dialog. We discussed Medicaid and the county budget. And I present the skunk poll to the listeners. Wed, 16 March 2005 My friends John Hall and Melissa Dunlap on for their monthly plug of the Niagara County Historical Society. We talked about ... not much of anything really. John suggested we anchor Easter to a fixed day - like the 2nd Sunday in April. I asked listeners to help me name my skunk. I got several good (and some not-so-good) answers ... which I then used to make a poll (online at http://www.scottleffler.com) Comments[0]

Mon, 14 March 2005 Monday, March 14th, 2005. It was a slacker kind of day. We talked about me being misquoted in the Buffalo News (damn media) and the skunk that lives under my porch ... plus we express our frustration with a Niagara Falls judge who jailed an entire courtroom cause he couldn't find out who's phone rang.Direct download: Dialog_031405_-_Slacker_Monday_Cellular_Style.mp3 Category: Dialog -- posted at: 12:18 PM Comments[1]

Thu, 10 March 2005 Enver Masud says he doesn't believe a Boeing 757 hit the pentagon on 9/11/2001. And he thinks the government knows the real story and isn't telling. Masud was the guest by phone and we took calls from skeptical listeners on the topic. Unforunately, the first minute and a half or so is cut off, but it doesn't hurt the podcast - which was ... interesting ... to say the least.Comments[1]

Thu, 3 March 2005 Thursday, March 3, 2005. Niagara Falls Mayor Vince Anello made his inaugural trip into the Dialog studio. I thought it went well. And I think they mayor did, too. Wed, 2 March 2005 Wednesday, March 2, 2005. Dr. Seuss would have been 101 today - so in his honor, we had a Seussy show. Lots of rhyming and griping. In fact, I created a Dr. Seuss-esque rhyme about Niagara County, which can be found on a seperate post ... and is read during the first couple minutes of this podcast. Thanks to the callers who stuck to the Dr. Seuss format. It made my day.Comments[1]

Gene wanted to pimp his company In Home Tutoring, which personally I didn't have a problem with ... if there was a way he could help us. Well, it took six months, but he helped. Fri, 31 December 2004 Friday, December 31, 2004, I played back some of my favorite interviews from the year that was ending. On the slate for the show were Lewiston Porter School Board Member Ed Lilly, who I had interviewed September 10; Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte who was on my show on July 2 and I haven't heard from since (think it was the interview?); Author Dean Koontz (December 10); Local businessman and former congressional candidate Jack Davis (April 6); Democrat demagogue and perennial presidential candidate Lyndon Larouche (July 13); Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News anylist and constitutional scholar (December 21); and finally WalMart buster Al Norman (June 3); The show ends with a song - as I always do on my "worst of" shows (secret - this is so the board op can fade out wherever the show ends because the show length fluxuates). Anyway, the song is Daniel Bedinfield - If Only I Can Get Through This, which I was using as my theme song at the time. Comments[0]
Thu, 30 December 2004 Last open dialog of 2004. People shared their opinions on the year ending. And I asked folks what their favorite interviews of the year were, which i then used to create a clips show for the following day. One guy wanted to complain about one of our sponsors. Had to shut that down quickly. Not that i'm opposed to dissent but if I were sponsoring a show where someone disses me, I'd be a little miffed. Lots of Starpoint discussion. Comments[0]
Wed, 29 December 2004 Open Dialog. Talked about the competing ball drops between Wilson and Lockport. Scott wonders aloud why the terror level hasn't been raised for New Years Eve. Maybe cause the election is over? I asked the folks what they thought were the big stories of the year. Comments[0]
Tue, 28 December 2004 Open Dialog. I asked listeners what the tops stories of 2004 were. we recapped the presidential election and discussed John Kerry's future. Mon, 27 December 2004 Slacker Monday. We begin reviewing the year. Ruthie calls, complains about the exporting of jobs. I picked on the Greater Niagara News "Holiday Edition." Al suggests we give each other cash as gifts so we can pay off our debts. A guy complained about the lack of places to shop downtown. Scott disagreed. "An Amendment To Be." - (worth downloading just for that). Legislature complaints ... even from Wilson Supervisor Jerry Dean. Comments[0]
Fri, 24 December 2004 Oops. Somehow this stopped recording about half way through this show, so we missed some stuff. Mayor Mike Tucker makes his last appearance of the year in studio. Maggie Lupo called to thank the city for helping with the North Park situation a few days earlier. A caller complained about the way the city takes care of the streets. Another caller seconds it. The mayor says the city will "enforce residency whenever we can." Comments[0]

Magician Paul Kiev joined us via phone to discuss The Legend of Earth Sea on the Sci Fi channel. Paul's Website. Thu, 4 November 2004 We discuss the conclusion of the presidential election. I pick on Sean Hannity ... for using the word "mandate" and for cherry-picking election results. I note that Kerry got more votes than Ronald Reagan. Man, conservatives hate that. Wed, 3 November 2004 We reviewed the election "results," talked a lot about Ohio. Took LOTSA phone calls. A couple dems still had hope that Kerry could "pull it out." Comments[0]
Tue, 2 November 2004 Scott was going through what states would vote for who ... and taking phone calls ... and accidentally spilled water on the console ... resulting in a 14 minute lapse in the show, during which live listeners were subjected to Barry Manilow and other poor music (you've been spared the torture). Scott took the day off to see the Sabres practice at HSBC Arena, so Tom filled in. And the topic? Scott Leffler. That's kinda weird.
I discuss the war on guns and lament the removal of the 2nd Amendment from the Constitution.

Dorothy Drummond, our resident Middle East expert, joined us for part of the show. After that, it was a free-fer-all.
Thursday's show was on the topic of marijuana and whether it should be legalized. I think it should. Some listeners did, too. Others, of course, did not. What do you think?
Bob Confer, vice president of Confer Plastics and columnist for the Union-Sun & Journal, was my guest on Wednesday. It was a great show. We talked about Bob's columns and focused on the global economy. For more on Bob, check

Wednesday's show was a bore. It sucked. Don't bother downloading it. But if you do, listen in for my "jelly bean commentary" which I provide over the top of some of the callers. Frankly it was rude and stupid. But I did it anyway.
Racin' Ray Sherman helped me to host the Superbowl Ad Review show again this year. Overall, the game sucked ... and the commercials weren't really much better. Calls were slow to come in today, which makes no sense to me. I mean, what else did people want to talk about today?
Tim Marren, editor of the Union-Sun & Journal dragged "cub reporter" Bill Wolcott and Eric Duvall into the WLVL studios for an hour of what I'm sure was pure hell for them ... but kinda fun for me. And hopefully for you, too.
US Senator Hillary Clinton made some really dumb remarks the other day. As did New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. Why do politicians open their mouths is such stupid stuff is going to fall out? Oh, and we also talked about the Amherst fight with Wal-Mart. No shortage of stupid today. Unfortunately, I missed like the first 90 seconds, but I think you'll catch on quickly.
AFSCME local president Ed McDonald fielded questions from callers and from the host. All went well, IMHO.
After six days, Scott continues to evade death. Tuesday's show he took a lot of phone calls - cause he didn't have the strength to talk much. I really appreciate those who called in and saved me. It's in interesting show to listen to if you like the sound of a talk show host choking to death ... which I'm sure many of you do. :)
Tuesday's show we discussed things that the Constitution allowed us to do but that the state has taken away. Our rights are eroding and they'll continue to as long as we continue to elect the same politicrats. Good show, IMHO.
I just think this gay cowboy movie is the funniest damn thing. So I talked about it - by myself - for an hour. We got several complaint calls during the show. People thought I was making it up. I'm not. A gay cowboy movie. Whoda Thunkit?
Canada voted "no confidence" in their government. Why can't we do the same? And who would you vote no confidence in? Lots of good discussion from callers. Overall a very good show.
We talked about a little bit of everything - from local and national politics to
What DIDN'T we talk about on Friday. From Harry Potter and what houses George Bush and Dick Cheney would be in ... to college funding ... to waking up next to a naked guy ... to a woman comparing me to a teacher ... Friday's show was ALL OVER THE BOARD. But man, it was fun.
Dolah is a job transition expert. What with all the termoil and Delphi and job tension in WNY in general, I thought she'd make for a great guest. But for some reason, people were apprehensive to call - so she and I goofed off for an hour.
Ann Marie Linnaberi joined Melissa in studio to talk about Thanksgiving traditions and more.
County Manager Greg Lewis was in studio talking mainly about the county budget. He said it's irresponsible to ask for a zero budget increase at this late date.
Alderman at Large Joe Kibler and his opponent, Diane Tuohey were in studio on Tuesday - taking phone calls on the only city-wide race this election cycle.
So here's the dillio: I got sick of listening to the presidents same damn line of reasoning every other week about why we must "stay the course (or is that coarse) in Iraq," so I dropped the official
President Bush discussed illegal aliens. So did we. I played a phone call from a Gasport man to Bill O'Reilly from last week. We also discussed the city's "free" new mobile command unit. Enjoy.
John Hall and Melissa Dunlap were in studio Wednesday discussing the poor house and the Chataqua Movement. Calls were slow to come in, but it was an interesting topic.
LCTV talk show host and friend of mine, Tom Christy was in studio Friday to discuss our recent trip to New York City. We really just wasted an hour of our lives and if you listen, you'll be wasting an hour of yours, too. But ... have at it if you'd like. The pictures I mentioned can be viewed
I was done with my rants about Delphi. Plenty of blame to go around, unfortunately.
GOP Election Commissioner Scott Kiedrowski was in studio on Wednesday to talk about what's going on at the BOE. Of course, I've been hard on the board and I asked the questions I wanted answers to. I wasn't about the "beat him up" since he was nice enough to come in, but that didn't stop some callers from doing it. Hopefully, Scott's compadre Nancy Smith will come in studio soon as well.
Delphi's weekend announcement that it was filing for bankruptcy sent shockwaves through Western New York. We discussed it. Several different people called. Oh and in the beginning, we played the president's address and let Ruthie do the retort. Took all of seven seconds. Good show overall.
Monday we talked about the weekly radio address and I made - what for me was - a major announcement. I went to the Board of Elections on Friday and switched affiliations. I am now - officially - a

Scott retorts the presidents weekly radio address and we discuss claims that a Keith McNall aide made campaign calls from the school board - on the taxpayers time. Both McNall and Glenn Aronow call.
Tuesday's show was a little bit of everything ... but mainly gas prices and whose fault it is. Plus we discussed who has the cheap gas and who's screwing us. Moral of the story: Sunoco=good. Noco=bad. Enjoy.
Although it was Labor Day - and Scott was taking the day off - he still responded to the President's Weekly Radio Address.
Links to many of the songs can be found in
We discussed the government's pathetic efforts to help the hurricane torn region down south and the price gouging being done throughout the country on gasoline.
This is Lyndon's third trip to Dialog. And man, was it a fun show. Lyn makes me look like a conservative, the things he says about the administration. We talked about "acting president" Dick Cheney pushing for a pre-emptive nuclear attack on Iran, September 11th, and Hurricane Katrina. This is one to listen to over and over.
For more information on Lyn, visit
Congresswoman Louise Slaughter made a rare appearance on Dialog. It's been 18 months since her last visit. IMHO, this one went quite well, so I'm hoping it won't be another 18 months until her next one. I think I asked every question that was asked of me. We certainly could have had her on for the whole hour.
Author John Longenecker joined us by phone to discuss his book, "The Battle We Fight," - on the topic of Potomoc Fever, that little disease the people get when they get elected to Congress ... which causes them to spend money like water. After we talked to John, we talked about the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Base and the BRAC Commission.
The president says we must stay the course in Iraq - cause of all the good reason's we're there in the first place. How many reasons are there, after-all? Phone calls ranged from a guy who needed a house for his cats to people asking where we'll start war next. Iran? Syria? I guess we'll just have to wait to find out. The "consolation" is that we probably won't have to wait too long.
Wednesday's guest talked about religious fundamentalism ... and his opinions on bible stories. The second half, we talked about Nagasaki again.
We started a new feature on Monday. I'm thinking "MRE: Monday's Review of Everthing."
It's always fun when legislators Glenn Aronow and Rick Updegrove share in the Dialog. These are two serious guys ... but who don't take life TOO serious. This show is a good mix of work and play - accentuated by an interesting disagreement between the legislators and Fred Laskey ... in which, they admitted, Fred was right. Good show overall. Enjoy.
Tuesday was an Open Dialog, but Scott spent a decent amount of time picking on fellow WLVL talk show hosts Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. We also discussed Amer, Niagara County cancer rates, traitor Karl Rove and more.
A brutal attack against the city of London was orchestrated early in the morning on July 7th. We discussed the bombings that left dozens dead and hundreds injured ... how it affects us ... and why do we have color coded security if we're just going to stay at constant yellow. (note: after the show, the color was raised to orange "for mass transit systems.") I badgered some folks for not caring ... some took offense.
We held a George W. Bush birthday bash for the president's 59th. Some people took offense (big shock) and other's took pot shots at W. We spoke with Robert Rudelic about
Tuesday's guest talked about
I took July 4th off - like any red-blooded American would ... and instead played a few of my favorite clips. And a great message too.
Peter De Krassel talked about what's wrong with America and how we can fix it. De Krassel seemed to think that emulating Hong Kong as much as possible is the answer to alot of our problems. Hmm. Interesting. I'll probably bring this guy back on again some time just cause he was so interesting.
Wednesday, Wiley Miller was our guest. Wiley, as you may know, is the artist behing
Tuesday's show, we talked with a Dr. Donald Berman, MD about nuclear mishaps around the US and the presidents push for more nuke plants.
Jim Haid came out to talk about Group Workcamps, a great organization that gets kids to come fix up Lockport. After the break, we opened things up and mainly talked about Dick Durbin. A caller tried to slam Durbin ... but it didn't work out that way. (hint: feel free to disagree with Scott, just make sure you can think on your feet)
Continuing with a theme for the week, we discussed the hazardous crap at Starpoint. Annemarie Reeb was in studio to discuss what they know about Starpoint and what they don't know. Several phone calls toward the end of the show.
Tuesday's show was quite serious. Let me sum it up. Some people in the scientific community believe that there may be Plutonium in the drinking water in Lewiston ... and believe that Niagara County is a hazard to your health. I talked with Lou Riccuiti (pictured) and Dr. Janette Sherman about the findings and what it all means.
LCTV Host and all-around good guy Tom Christy co-hosted Thursday's show. We talked about the Confederate flag a little more; (Tom isn't really writing a book called: "Slavery - It Was Good for the Slaves." We made that up); Deep Throat; John McCain and other fun stuff. Download. Enjoy. Repeat.
Wednesday started where Tuesday left off. Enjoy.
Tuesday we did "Slacker Tuesday" since there was no Monday show ... and Scott discussed something that irritated him: Confederate flags. He just doesn't get it. Do people not know what the Confederacy stood for? Or do they not care? Why not display a Nazi flag? Same basic tone, right? Some interesting phone calls. No one outright stood up for the Confederate flag fliers ... but a few people backhandedly did. Enjoy.
Paul Pazniokas called up to talk about his plan for voting reform which would assign each voter with a "vote word." Interesting idea. After we talked with Paul, I talked about other vote reform ideas and pointed out that New York hasn't gotten off it's butts to fix our system. The phones were quiet, but that didn't prevent me from talking. For more info,
Friday the feds announced that they were looking to close the Niagara Falls Air Base. Now, I'm no fan of the military industrial complex, but I don't understand the thought of closing military bases while we're at war. Some listeners, however, think closing the base is a good thing.
My friends in Newfane have riled me again ... what with deception on tax increases and the board president getting an "internship" with the district, it makes you wonder what the heck is going on down in Panther country. Technically, this was an open show, but after the first caller raised the Terry Schaivo issue from the dead (although not Terry herself), it was almost all Newfane all the time. Enjoy. The photo, by the way, is from my
Author Sammy Sorrell says we need to focus our resources on terrorism within our borders (a.k.a. crime). How do we do that though? We'll have to revisit this topic becuase 45 minutes just wasn't enough time.
I had had enough of the hypocracy from the right ... and I let it be known. I assumed that people would call ME a hypocrit, but my detractors must be off enjoying a vacation with their oil profits or something.
Tuesday's show, we talked with Sam Williams from
Monday's show focused a lot on Newfane's upcoming budget vote. Enjoy. BTW, the picture has nothing to do with the story - I just thought it was funny that W, who admittedly doesn't read the papers, gave a speech to a bunch of journalists, who don't know how to report on politics.
Lyndon LaRouche joined us by phone again. We were scheduled to talk for 20 minutes ... which turned into the whole show. As he was before, Lyndon was a GREAT guest. Sound bites galore. Enjoy.
Supervisor Tim Demler came in to the Lockport studio to talk about the going's on in Wheatfield. We actually spent a lot of time talking about the Niagara Wheatfield School Board's decision to buy some land for $600,000 ... despite the fact that it has a declared value of $150,000 and was recently purchased for just $125,000. Hmm. Interesting.
Bill Rolland and Tim Henderson from Residents for Responsible Government dropped by to talk up their spring meeting (4/14/05) at which Ralph Nader will be discussing the crap in our proverbial back yard. Bill and Tim took phone calls and answered questions. For more on this, check their
Tuesday's show featured frequent caller and listener Fred Laskey, who is starting a group called the Niagara County Taxpayers Union (wonder where he got the name?). Fred came on to plug their first meeting April 9th at 7 p.m. at the Lockport Library. Fore more information listen to the show.
Every Day is April Fools when you have to put up with the idiots we elect in New York State. We haven't had a budget on time in 21 years ... and they pass some shell of a budget Thursday and say they're done ... "but there's more work to do." In other words, they're not done ... and it wasn't on time. Unfortunately, the media has eaten it up. I complain about that and take a couple phone calls ... plus we play some fun political satire songs. Happy April Fools Day.
Thursdays show dealt with how much government interferes with our lives ... and how big business is in bed with government to glean as much information from us as possible. We are catalogued. We are inventoried. We are not free. This topic will undoubtably come up again. There's a great thread on this topic on the forum at ScottLeffler.com
A guest from "For Our Grandchildren" was supposed to take up the 1st half of the show to discuss why it's good to privatize Social Security ... but she failed to show up. New York State's AARP Director Lois Aronstein joined us to explain why privatization is bad after the first break.
Monday, March 14th, 2005. It was a slacker kind of day. We talked about me being misquoted in the Buffalo News (damn media) and the skunk that lives under my porch ... plus we express our frustration with a Niagara Falls judge who jailed an entire courtroom cause he couldn't find out who's phone rang.
Enver Masud says he doesn't believe a Boeing 757 hit the pentagon on 9/11/2001. And he thinks the government knows the real story and isn't telling. Masud was the guest by phone and we took calls from skeptical listeners on the topic. Unforunately, the first minute and a half or so is cut off, but it doesn't hurt the podcast - which was ... interesting ... to say the least.
Niagara County Legislator Glenn Aronow is on about every six weeks or so ... and it's always fun. Parts of the show got a little contentious. We spent a lot of time comparing Niagara County to the County of Erie. Enjoy.
Wednesday, March 2, 2005. It made my day.
Thursday, February 24, 2005. Apparently, my "Swiftboat Nazis" comments irritated some people. We discuss it more ... plus we talk with Victoria Rockwell about Engineers Week and we discuss NightFall with Nelson DeMille.
Open session on Tuesday, February 22, 2005. Talked about the Erie County budget fiasco and what we'd do if it happened here; the need for a "people's union"; Mount View; and the NFTA trolley. Kind of eclectic. Rather funny.
This show is an interview with two people in the Believe in Buffalo-Niagara organization. It was a decent show ... but due to a technical glitch, we missed the first three minutes or so. Their website is www.believeinbuffaloniagara.org
Scott revisits the 2005 State of the Union speech and explains why and where it was flawed.
Former Congressional Candidate and job saver Jack Davis wants to get us to buy American ... and not shop at Walmart. Listen for his ideas to save the economy.
W keeps paying these journalist types to promote his agenda. Where's my cut? What would you have to be payed to sell out and throw your ethics out the window?
John Cord is a guy I met in NYC back in July. He thinks the right-wing religious types are a buncha phonys. I agree. So did a lot of you. This was a pretty good show, IMHO.
Why do most Americans think that Saddam was one of the masterminds behind 9/11? Becuase he was. Or, so says Dr. Hugh Cort, our guest. After our conversation with Dr. Cort, I threw open the phone lines and discussed ... whatever. Enjoy.
This is what happens when you open the phone lines, turn on some microphones, and broadcast it over the radio. Open Dialog. Then at the end of the show, we discuss religion for the first time in 2005. Is God a Democrat or a Republican? Listen to find out. Greg Placencia tells us.
Roger Simmermaker tells us what brands are REALLY American. Good show.
Author Langdon Morris says he's upset about the current state of national politics. Shockingly many of you are, too. We start with phone calls and them Morris to finish out the show.
County legislator Bill Davignon came into the studio to talk about what the Democrats are hoping to accomplish while in the majority and how it's possible to win an election by one vote - twice in a row. (the photo is Bill (standing) with former Congressman John LaFalce)
We talked about Christmas shopping and the state's desire to put a 17 cent tax on grocery bags. I think Christmas shopping is good. Taxes, on the other hand ... not so much.
I talked with Scott Whiteman from the
Anthony Lappe from
The New Elite are the self-proclaimed smartest people in the land, a test-score meritocracy that believes the consent of the governed has been made obsolete by th SAT. Lebedoff says the real fight is between those who believe in majority rule and those who believe in rule by experts. This was an interesting interview, although I think Lebedoff is full of it.
Kevin Phillips is the author of American Dynasty, a book about the Bush family. It was a pretty good interview, in my opinion.
Perennial Democratic Presidential Candidate Lyndon LaRouche makes his first appearance on Dialog. He called W an idiot and said Dick Cheney is "the closest approximation that we have to Hitler." And those were the nice things he said. Good show.
Libertarian Presidential Candidate Michael Badnarik graces the WLVL airwaves to discuss his candidacy and the Libertarian Party.
Seneca Niagara Casino President Mickey Brown was our guest for the second half of the show. Originally planned for the whole show, Mickey ran late, so we did some of the show without him.
